Proarb become pioneers of the two rope climbing system

During our recent Contractor Improvement Group meeting hosted by Scottish Power Energy Networks in Wrexham on 10th October, Stewart Perry from HSE talked at length about the Work at Height Regulations and the concern over the application of the Work at Height Regulations 2015 in the Arboricultural Industry.

Although rare, falls from height by climbers using a one rope system are still occurring. The industry is now focusing on making the two rope climbing system the standard in order to comply with Work at Height Regs and to reduce falls from height.

Proarb maintain a proactive approach to industry advancements and techniques and have always been hands on in the development of modern climbing techniques.

Huw Roberts, Proarb’s HSEQ Manager and several of Proarb’s climbers have for the last 2 years been using a two rope system with view to establishing if the adoption of the system across the industry is feasible and workable on a day to day basis.
