Lantra approved and NPTC assessments
Adequate training of the operator is essential to enable any work involving chainsaws to be carried out safely. From 5 December 1998 anyone working with chainsaws on or in trees is expected to hold a certificate of competence award relevant to the work they undertake, with one exception (HSE, PUWER 98: How the Regulations apply to agriculture and forestry).

Proarb provide chainsaw training for professional forestry staff aiming for NPTC assessments. All our chainsaw training courses are Lantra approved and NPTC Assessments are available upon completion of most courses.
• Chainsaw maintenance, cross cutting and felling small trees up to 380 mm including the takedown of hung up trees using hand tools (CS30/CS31).
• Chainsaw felling medium trees (380 to 760mm) including the takedown of hung up trees using a winch (CS32).
• Chainsaw felling large trees over 760mm (CS33).
• Dealing with single windblown trees (CS34).
