Via their smartphone and ipad, the new ‘Proarb Work Smart’ app enables all Proarb employees to complete a variety of task which were previously paper based, these include: completing daily timesheets, recording of daily vehicle and machinery checks. In addition the app allows all employees to view certificates of competence for all staff and have access to machinery maintenance records for all the companies plant, vehicles and equipment. Staff also get full access to all company HSEQ documents via the app.

For the operational tree cutting staff out on site, the app enables operatives to send and receive work packages and plans, complete on-site risk assessments, sign off jobs once completed and carry out on-site client satisfaction surveys the results of which are all automatically uploaded via the app to the management team in head office.

The app has also been designed for use within the surveying function of the business and facilitates amongst other things,  the surveying and recording of vegetation affecting Scottish Power Energy Network’s overhead lines, the recording of landowner/grantor details, the capture of digital signatures from grantors. It has the built in ability to send a copy of signed consent forms to grantors straight from the app.

The app, created by director John Paul Williams, has ensured that everyone can access key health, safety and task related information even when offline.
